Balloons of Hope Virtual Balloon Race
Balloons of Hope by the INAD Foundation Australia is a global virtual balloon race raising vital funds to accelerate life-changing gene therapy research for Infantile Neuroaxonal Dystrophy (INAD).
On Rare Disease Day, 28 February, thousands of virtual balloons will launch from University College London (UCL), our place of hope, symbolising the research, collaboration, and determination driving progress toward a clinical trial.
Participants from around the world can purchase a virtual balloon and watch it “race” online alongside others, uniting families, researchers, and supporters in a powerful display of hope and solidarity. Every balloon represents a child, a family, and the shared belief that rare disease research cannot wait.
All funds raised through Balloons of Hope directly support the INAD gene therapy research program at UCL, where leading clinicians and scientists are actively advancing viral-vector development and clinical-trial design in collaboration with international partners.
Whether you’re racing a balloon in honour of a loved one, or supporting from afar, Balloons of Hope turns hope into action and action into progress.
